Multidisciplinary artist Jonathan Baldock – Plaster Mould Commission (Copy)

Artist Jonathan Baldock visited my studio with a series of scaled 3D-printed models. Hands, feet, ears, noses, eyes, and faces for his solo WYRD installation at Ballroom Gallery, Edinburgh.

I created a set of complex, multi-piece plaster moulds from his models, which Jonathan then used in his studio for slip casting and finishing. The process combined precise technical mould-making with Jonathan’s distinctive sculptural language, blending ceramic and fabric for the installation.

“I love the variety of objects and models I have moulded over the decades, the challenges they bring and the visuals of them throughout the process. These scaled down, 3D printed body parts produced were fun and challenging to make!”

The ceramic parts were blended with textiles into fantastical hybrids of folkloric and mythological creatures for his solo exhibition in Edinburgh, Scotland which ran from May - September 2025.
