About the Work: Whether open and free in form or closed and seemingly solid, all works are surprisingly lightweight and invite the viewer to want to engage with tactility of the piece, whether there is uncertainty in being vulnerable to something so fine and delicate or simply wanting to investigate how soft the surface can feel or follow patterns which flow. Clay is earth, air, fire and water, all the elements which Helen gives space to sculpt her emotions, allow the material to be an integral part of what the outcomes become.
